Zenn Car Battery

Zenn Car Battery
Did anyone see the ZENN car?

Its supposed to have a promising new battery technology 500 miles of travel time in loading five minutes using an electric motor. So … Did I mess up the math? Assume 24 HP motor. That means 18000watts. Suppose 500 miles at 50 mph. That's 10 hours. So we need to store 180 kWh. To put that charge in 5 minutes at 120 V would require 18,000 amps. Sounds like a great brown-out to happen.

Nothing wrong with math Zenn has stitched a deal with EEStor. 20equity http://www.zenncars.com/home/EEStor 20investment%%% 20April% 2030% 202007% 20Final% 202.pdf It's not really a battery but a capacitor Super. http://thefraserdomain.typepad. Assuming you have another com/energy/2006/01/eestor_ultracap.html continuous load capacitor it could dump its load into the car in a very short period of time. There are some other problems to come as more of an engine operating on a wide range voltage and so it is sturdy enough to be transported in a vehicle. This is on my "wait and see" list with some others. Quick charge always makes me skeptical. But if it works, there will be more applications than just transportation. (could be the end of peak demand in the electricity industry) I always wonder why not go fast for the battery replacement systems in place. (no one doubts that this could be done in less than ten minutes.)
