Hybrid Car Statistics

I have to make a speech about hybrid cars, which needed help!?
I have to look for people to buy a hybrid car because of the prices increasing gas in the U.S.. I do not know much about hybrids, they do not have a job. I would like some statistics on the hybrids, as the owner average vehicle spends this money much more than a hybrid car owner or something. I would also like some facts about hybrids. explaining how hybrids work, in TERMINOLOGY SIMPLE! and can someone tell me if its true that when it breaks into a hybrid that produces energy or recharge the battery? any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Well hybrids generally cost more than comparable gas vehicles normal. The savings in gas makes for an initial price difference in about 5-10 years. You can search for prices and efficiency of miles from several cars on Yahoo Autos http://autos.yahoo.com/; _ylc = X3oDMTE5MGRqZDdoBF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLXRyb3VnaARzbGsDc3Bpcml0LWZpeGVk and specifically for hybrids on Yahoo Autos Green Center at the Center Green http://autos.yahoo.com/green_center-fuel_hybrid_cars-cars/ can see cars that are only hybrids or gas simply connected, so it's a good way to get the information they need. As for how the work – a hybrid has 2 motors, internal combustion engine (ICE) as a normal car and an electric motor. It also has batteries. At slow speeds, it runs primarily or entirely in the electric motor so it is not burning any gas, and electric motor gets its power from the batteries. When more power is needed (to accelerate more fast or very high speeds), ICE is activated to supplement the electric motor. Hybrids also have regenerative braking captures energy normally lost heat under braking to recharge the batteries. The batteries also can be recharged through the adoption of the energy of the ICE. I hope that helps. Good luck with the speech.
