Hybrid Car Performance
The new 2009 Camry Hybrid with 4K miles keeps showing the "check engine light. What to do? So sick!?

Hello everyone, I have a brand new Camry Hybrid 09 'with approx. 4K miles on it. I am satisfied with the overall performance of the sensor EXCEPT the "check engine light" that occurs from time to time. I took the car to the Toyota dealer three times (: () In a month and, surprisingly, always struck me saying I do not "close" the Enuf gas tight lid and set off the sensor … but wait … I am not a child … I hear the tick-tick-tick atleast 10 times each gas refill, even after driving 400 miles (* and three weeks without filling the gas) I GOT THE STUPID LIGHT …. Therefore, something must be wrong somewhere! Any owner of hybrids is other and to the same question? Please advise. Regards, Gill PS: sick of this, wanted to sell the vehicle and agree! UURRGGHHHH !!!!!

I hope you have not been finishing off the fuel tank. You are NOT supposed to do that when filled. By increasing the fuel tank, the fuel vapor recovery EVAP saturated system will cause damage that will cause the check engine light. Such damage is considered non-abuse of security by the end user, is NOT covered by warranty and will cost a few hundred dollars to repair. This can happen to any car with an EVAP system, not just the Camry Hybrid, by true.
