Is the emissions of hybrid cars the same as for a non-hybrid that achieves the same gas mileage?

The Lexus RX400h receives about 25 miles per gallon. While this is better than non-hybrid model, mileage is still not great. I wonder if the RX400h emissions are the same as any other 25 MPG car, or pollutes less?

If driving a car that 25mpg, no matter how the mechanics, who burns the same amount of gas, therefore the same amount of CO2 to the air, period. This means that pollution of the same. Note to responders: Half of the power of a hybrid does not come "from electricity. "All power comes from gasoline, a hybrid is more efficient in energy use. hybrids are not" in tune better " to operate at a constant speed, is in most cases only small gasoline engines. The current EPA estimates mileage does not include running air conditioning, and the use of low rates of acceleration and low top speeds. I'm interested to see how to change estimates of next year. Of course, hybrid lovers claim a conspiracy against hybrids, but this is a response to people who really believe the claims of miles per gallon on the highway. That said, if we can find batteries less environmentally damaging, and could reduce the cost of a hybrid, you might consider one. And I'm really pissed off my taxes offset the cost of this foolish mission at this time.
