Disadvantages hybrid?

I know you have to drive a car 7 years/80, 000 miles – whatever the term – to offset the difference Price, but are there other issues in the light hybrids? Has much has been said about its reliability and / or operation in extreme climates, both hot and cold etc. Just wondering what the disadvantages would be, any ideas would be appreciated!

If your car breaks down in a small town or remote location. you could be out of luck unitl is towed the distributor. In addition, a hybrid does not offer a greater return on gas if most of your driving is on the road. If that is the case and looking for better performance fuel, could do much better with a diesel VW.
