Do you think that high gas prices could be the best thing to happen to the U.S.?

Now everyone wants a vehicle for efficient use of fuel conversion kits that are coming out in the next few months to convert the plug in hybrid vehicles that get 100mpg. You see the closure GM SUV factory to set them up to make your electric car the Volt. I think that most gas prices, the sooner you will not use gasoline or diesel for vehicles and not be dependent on foreign oil. It also seems that in my mind the OPEC nations are to make oil cheap again for the rest of the world does not convert all the hybrids and electric vehicles. I honestly think that this stinks! I travel a lot for my job and gas prices that spend most of my paycheck! bleh, I learned that its only gonna get more and remains that the price of all well until next year. Im going to be a Btch broke before this is over. = (
