If the government offer subsidies and tax credits for people to buy non-polluting electric vehicles?

No. The government can not continue subsidizing everything under the sun. That in this moment are totally in debt, and have nothing really to give. By the way, I am surprised by the responses below the government is there to give people what they want. That amazes me that people feel this. This reminds me Plato's discussion on democracy in which noted that once a democratic society figures out, basically, you can vote yes same elements, democracy will fail soon.
