The increasing number of vehicles on the roads in the United States means that there are plenty of vehicles to choose for thieves. The popularity of a particular model is not only measured by its sales figures in the markets, but how it appeals to car thieves.

Sadly though, still still a fact, as car thieves steal vehicles and this is most popular as shown by a study that was conducted in the state of Texas. Last year, the Department of Public Safety Texas compiled a list of vehicles that were stolen in that state. For over a decade before 2006, Chevrolet Trucks These goods, but by 2006, most stolen vehicles are Ford trucks. While this is a sign that Ford's vehicle production appealing to the taste of Americans, it is sad that the same attraction it has for honest citizens also appealed to the thieves.

The list of reported by the Department of Public Safety Texas comes from the database of the Texas Crime Information Center. This information was reported by various implementing bodies of law throughout the state. Ford trucks rank as the most stolen vehicles in 2006.

Ranking third on the list are Dodge pickup trucks. The popularity of the vans of the thieves is evident in the fact that the three most stolen vehicles are trucks. Of course it is a known fact that Americans love their trucks and come as no surprise that the targets of these thieves trucks.

The number four on the list is the Honda Accord. This midsize sedan that has become so popular among consumers is also attracts the unwanted attention of car thieves. Another Honda model is included in the list of most stolen vehicles Texas' – the Honda Civic most stolen vehicle occupies the session.

The Chevrolet Tahoe, SUV full General Motors shows as the most stolen vehicle sixth in the state. The number seven on the list are GMC trucks demonstrating once again the trucks to draw attention from thieves.

The Ford Taurus, a mid-size front-wheel-drive sedan is considered the most stolen vehicle session in Texas. The only Toyota model having made the bestseller list of the company – the Toyota Camry – which is ranked as the most stolen vehicle session. Aside from the stolen vehicles stateaid, the Houston Police Department also published the most stolen cars in the city last December.
