Building your own electric car is good for the environment. However, many people believe they will pollute the air, almost as much as motor cars gasoline because plants can create their own pollution, while they are generating electricity that needs an electric car.

This is simply not true. The reason people are big on electric vehicles because the total amount of fuel consumption involved is much less than consuming gas vehicles due to the efficiencies involved in a power generation plant.

Even in today's electricity grid, plug-in cars are cleaner than a gasoline car. Even better, while electricity is getting cleaner and renewable every year, even the cleanest gasoline car is still adding to pollution and always will. By making an electric car conversion on the contrary, only clean over time, such as power cleans.

Grid power comes from impure and increasingly cleaner energy sources, such as scrubbers to burn fossil fuels, solar panels, wind turbines, geo thermal generators and other renewable energy sources. This means that electric vehicles will increasingly will be charged with clean energy sources such as the network becomes green.

Even better with modern technology you can build cheap house made solar or wind power generators, which can reduce dependence on public power to zero.

In addition to adding less pollution, conversion of electric vehicles operate at a much lower temperature. This is why they are so much more efficient because the petrol engines lose much of its electricity and heat. Finally, another thing to consider is that electric cars are quieter, adding noise less, a fact that most people do not even think.
