Is it difficult or costly to charge the battery of an electric car?
I'm amused by the idea of buying a totally electric car. Is it uncomfortable to charge the battery? Expensive?
It's easy and cheap. Electric vehicles are connected to your normal outlet – or for high speed, can be installed making 220v. * Electricity is more expensive than gasoline. I did a comparison of fuel costs this week: 1300 miles drive per month. In our car 18mpg at $ 3.10/gallon, it costs us $ 224 per month. That same 1300 miles costs $ 8 in an electric vehicle. Yes! Eight dollars! (4 miles per kilowatt-hour, and we have a 'EV load "of electric cars here of 2.5 cents per kWh.) fuel saving, plus taxes nearly EV breaks cover monthly payments for an electric car like this then: * * http://www.milesautomotive.com/products_xs200.html This car costs $ 28500, and get 200 miles per charge. How long do the batteries? Well-ion batteries are good for 500 charges. At 200 miles per charge, is 100,000 miles.
